Let’s go back to December of 2019… You’re mingling with coworkers at the annual end-of-the-year party. A raffle is taking place on stage, and your name is called, followed by erupting applause. You’ve just won an all-expenses-paid trip to your bucket list destination!
That’s exactly what happened to Paige Vincent, a customer service agent at Superior Contact. (For those of you who don’t know, Superior Contact is a contact center and subsidiary of TelNet Worldwide based in Marquette, Michigan. They prioritize your customer service so you can enjoy higher customer satisfaction, greater lifetime value and a glowing brand reputation.)
After a two-year delay thanks to the pandemic, Paige (who has since been promoted to supervisor) was finally able to take her bucket list trip this month. Before we recap her trip, let’s talk about how she won.
The Bucket List Challenge
Company culture is a big deal at Superior Contact and TelNet Worldwide. Vibrant personalities, dog-friendly offices and parking lot barbeques are the norm. The annual Bucket List Challenge seemed like the perfect way to drive engagement and stir up some friendly competition.
Participants would earn bucket list points throughout the year for various activities related to community outreach, corporate training, team building and customer service. Paige earned the majority of her points from after-work activities and a disposition competition. (Disposition is the time it takes you to document your conversation and write up a ticket after a call.)
“I participated in as much as I could,” said Paige. “I started making my tickets on the call and practicing my material to get quicker and more efficient. My fastest weekly average dispo time was .07 seconds.”
At the end of the year, the top five point holders from each organization would be put in a drawing. The first contender pulled from the lottery won $5,000 toward a trip on their bucket list. Second place won $1,000 and the remaining three each won $500. Paige was the Bucket List winner for Superior Contact’s raffle!
A Trip to South Carolina
Paige and her boyfriend Travis booked an 11-day trip to Isle of Palms, South Carolina — a barrier island on the coast with six miles of white, sandy beaches. It was voted among the Top 10 North American Islands by Conde Nast Traveler’s Reader’s Choice Awards!
“Watching the sunrise on the ocean will always be one of my favorite things as well as seeing dolphins for the first time,” said Paige. “But I loved learning about the history of Charleston. The Angel Oak Tree there was incredible. Everything was so beautiful it’s hard to pick just one highlight!”
For Paige, this was a dream long in the making. Traveling as a family of seven was a luxury that didn’t happen often when she was growing up.
“I had an amazing time and will forever be thankful for this experience,” said Paige. “It felt great being noticed for my hard work and participation. There’s no better feeling than being valued by your employer.”
